Wine Storage Conditions |
Constant temperature : The temperature at which the wine is stored must be constant for it to age in a healthy way. The ideal fixed storage temperature recommended for all wines, regardless of type, is between 15-20 °C. The development of wines that accelerate or slow down due to temperature changes is disrupted after a while. Thus, wines lose their balance and spoil. Horizontal Storage: Since the corks of wines stored horizontally will remain wet all the time, the cork is prevented from drying out. If the wine cork dries, it will crack and pass air. Wine in contact with air oxidizes and deteriorates. Humidity: The recommended ideal humidity for proper storage is around 75 percent. If the air in the storage environment is dry, there will be a possibility of drying and cracking of the cork. If the cork dries, it will crack and cause air to permeate, causing the wine to deteriorate by oxidation. Excess moisture will also cause the fungus to rot. In addition, the constant freshening of the air in the environment where the wines are stored is another important issue in terms of keeping the corks healthy. Light: Light is one of the factors that negatively affect the development of wine. Vibration: Continuous vibration and shaking will spoil the structure of the wine. |
