It is a product that is released as a result of the reaction of vegetable oils obtained from oilseeds such as biodiesel, canola, sunflower, soy, safflower with a short chain alcohol (methanol-ethanol) accompanied by a catalyst and used as fuel. frying oils and animal oils can also be used as the raw material of biodiesel oil.
Biodiesel does not contain petroleum, but it can be used as fuel by mixing with pure biodiesel or diesel of any proportion. Pure biodiesel and diesel biodiesel mixtures can be used on any diesel engine, without any modification on the engine.
Biodiesel Plants And System Working Principles
1- Mixing of Alcohol and Catalyst
The catalyst is caustic soda or potassium hydroxide. The catalyst is dissolved in alcohol using a chrome mixer or mixer.
2- Reaction
The alcohol / catalyst composition is mixed in the closed reaction vessel and injected into the reactor. Heat is applied to this mixture in order to accelerate the reaction.
3- Separation
2 products are obtained in the reaction process. These products are glycerin and biodiesel. Since the density of glycerin is much higher than that of biodiesel, glycerin settles to the bottom of the mixing vessel.With this process, glycerin is easily removed from the bottom of the container.
4- Washing Process
In order to remove residues and catalysts from the biodiesel separated from glycerine . Washing is done with hot water.
5- Drying
After the washing process, the remaining water in the biodiesel is dried.
6- Storage
It is the part where the biodiesel is stocked after the process is completed.
Biodiesel standards are used as fuel in the form of pure biodiesel and diesel / biodiesel mixtures.

- B20: %20 Biodiesel + %80 Diesel
- B50: %50 Biodiesel + %50 Diesel
- B100: %100 Biodiesel
It is prepared in EN 14214 TSE standard.
